Abstract (English):
The article gives a brief social-economical characteristic of the Nizhnevartovsk region as of one of the most important economical Russian regions. Some demographic indicators characterizing the life quality of the population of Nizhnevartovsk over 12 years, such as birth rate, death rate, natural population growth, and infant mortality, were analyzed and compared with those of the KhMAO - Ugra and Russia.
