K istorii Zemskikh soborov Moskovskoy Rusi kontsa XVI veka
Abstract
The article covers controversial issues of the history of estate representation in Russia of the closing decades of the 16th century. A strong focus is put on the issue of the 1586 Sobor, the latter having ample grounds to be viewed as an opposition body as well as on the Confirmed Letter of 1598 for it being the principal document of the Zemsky Sobor that enthroned Boris Godunov.

Proceeding from a set of various sources, including the archival records, the author characterizes the sense of law and order of the Siberian peasantry in the post-reform epoch, pointing out that law nihilism inhered in rural communities of the Asian part of Russia to bring about the tragic consequences soon afterwards.

The article touches upon the specific features of Margaret Thatcher's and John Major's conservative governments' social policy in Great Britain in 1979-1997. In the article the research is carried out into B.A.Rybakov's principal conclusions concerning the character and origins of chronicle records in Vladimir-Suzdal Russia in the closing quarter of the 12th - early 13th centuries. The author considers the scholar's reasoning and techniques of studying the book culture of the North-West of Russia and undertakes a critical analysis of his conclusions on the attribution of a number of records in Vladimir chronicles.

Izuchenie neolita tsentral'nogo, severo-vostochnogo i severnogo Kazakhstana v 60-80-e gody proshlogo stoletiya
Abstract
The author traces the evolution of the view in the 1960s - 1980s historiography that the two types of late Stone Age industry in the territory of Central, North-East and Northern Kazakhstan - flake industry and blade industry - were patchy and strip-like in character towards the conception that blade industry was superseded by flake industry, this conclusion being specifically due to the usage of methods of the statistical analysis of archaeological data.

Abstract
Soviet immigrant historian Mikhail Gheller, who was writing and debating the most topical USSR-related issues from abroad, had a very special, non-Western vision of the Soviet reality. He was not typical in his judgements for neither his former compatriots nor Western colleagues. Within the article an attempt is made to outline the general directions and clarify the distinctive features of this vision as well as the signs of the Soviet reality of the critical 1980s which were reflected in it.
